I will ask about the 13" wheels, but suspect it was because of rationalisation
at the time, 13" wheels were the in thing, when production started and were
cheaper. Interesting to note the original design used the 15" wheel as they were
the in size at the design stage.
The windscreen is a sore point, should not tell you this as it is going to be
used in the book, but, the rake was changed much to the annoyance of Ken Howes,
even more so when it was raised even more with the introduction of the Series 3.
Initial changes were made because the window kept popping out, I have a photo
that shows they even put a vertical bar in the centre of the windscreen to hold
it together, did not meet with they brothers approval so it was changed.
I will pass on the engine, but keep it in mind. I have other thoughts on the
choice of engine, but will have to keep that for the book, they did at one stage
have a better engine that could have been used from the Series 1, I am trying to
find out why they scrapped it.
Hope this helps.
