Well the gearknob on my alpine isn't original as I found out, trying
to shift it in reverse the first time I had it.
I just couldn't reverse it!
First I had visions of a gearbox transplant, but then as all forward
gears were OK and reverse seemed as it wasn't there at all I tried
to push it the other way back and guess what success !
So it wasn't as on my gearknob !!!
It's a brown knob with the shift pattern engraved on top.
Downwards it has a step in it and is attached to the gearshift with
a chrome nut.
Could this one be of another series Alpine ?
I beleive the reverse is on the left of the second gear on the knob
and the Alpines reverse is on the right of 4th gear.
Regards, Bert
