Jay,

Merely unloading the springs will not subsequently increase their overal
length, unless you ask Clark Kent to stretch them out beyond their limits or
apply a blowtorch. A couple of possibilities come to mind: 1) The springs
are not turned so that their ends are sitting in the reliefs in the upper and
lower spring pans; or 2) the front end is just fine, but the rear springs and
mounting bushings are clapped out and its hanging a little low - so to speak.
 Then again, maybe everything is fine and this is the way it is supposed to
sit. If the springs are turned wrong, maybe a little spray oil on the
rubber cap and the top of the spring plus a robust Spring drive will cause
them to settle into their proper position. If not, start winding up the
bolts on the spring compressor from your local tool rental store.
