Hi Alpinists,

When I had a look at and in the steering box I noticed the oil level
was very low.
Looking into the various Alpine manuals I couldn't find how much oil
it should contain or how high the oil level should be.
Smelling the oil I also noticed it was gearbox oil is that the correct
oil or should I use special hydrolic oil ? can I drain the box or not ?
Any ideas out there ?

The Alpine restoration is going well, I have replaced the caliper
pistons and seals and checked the steering.
What a lot of (steering) balljoints it has incredable, luckily I had to
replace only one (yet).
They look pretty overdesigned so they should last a long time although
I noticed that Rootes redesigned them many times every series Alpine
is different !

Regards, Bert
