wiring diagram

Hello,

I am currently having some trouble w/ the electrical on my series V and
have not been able to find a diagram for it. I am wondering if it is the
same as the seies IV. I am also wondering about a copper line on the carb
side of the engine that comes out of the block and ends underneath the
alternator. It looks like it has been cut. What is it's function?
