Make sure that those "small screws" which hold the needles in place on the
air pistons of your Strombergs are genuinely tight. (Locktite, perhaps?)
 The screws are very capable of loosening and backing out of the air pistons,
and then falling into the engine. If that happens, within a few seconds,
you'll hear a godawful banging sound. After pulling the head, you'll find
that the top of one of the pistons will look like a family of potato bugs was
living there. The head won't look so good, either.
