        I have a 1966 Series V with chasis number B395010785. I am from
Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia which is in the tropics. Temperature all year round
is about 28-33 degs Cent. during the day and 22-28 degs Cent. during the
night. Consequently, I have converted my radiator and fitted two additional
electric fans in order to fit a rotary Nippon Denso air-conditioner about
three years ago. It is much more pleasant to drive in it now and I have not
experienced any overheating problem. However, there is one persistent
problem which I have not been able to solve. There is a strong smell of
petrol; in and around the car particularly in the trunk and also the
interior of the car each time after I have driven it around. I have
inspected the petrol tanks and the carburetors everytime but I do not see
any signs of leaking. Neither is the petrol consumption higher than usual.
Can anyone kindly advise the actions that I ought to take to overcome this
problem.
2. Another problem that has just cropped up lately is my gear slipping
to neutral from the 4th gear especially when I attempt to accelerate fast.
What is wrong and how can I rectify this defect?

Warmest Regards,
Siew
