Good idea about the list "reintroduction". I'll keep mine brief.

I'm a dyed in the wool gear head with a special love for english
cars. THis began in 1983 when I bought a 63 E-type roadster. Being
too young to afford this car, I sold it in 1984 but got an old
Sunbeam as a part of the trade. It was a series V that had less than
40 k miles on it and had sat since 1972. It still had the
california CHP smog inspection sticker on the windshield from 1971 (any of you
guys remember those "roadside" checks by the CHP ?). I brought the
car from San Jose to Utah. It was rust and dent free and was a
perfect car for restoration. My wife and I tore the car apart and
found the motor to be seized. We decided to swap a bigger motor into
the car and chose a ford 2.8L V6. THis was one of the more
challenging projects that I have ever undertook. We repainted and
reupholstered the car and have drove it for the last 13 years. It
got walked on last spring by my horse (yes I know this sounds strange
but don't ever park one next to a tethered horse !!). Its currently
getting prepareed for new paint. I have recently purchased two XJC
jags. I found this pair of these very rare cars in Costa Mesa Ca. One has
a V12 and one a 6 cyl. Total production numbers of these two door
coupes was 686 for the V12 and 1833 for the 6 cyl. I'm currently
restoring the 12 including an engine rebuild.

I'm a mechanical engineer and I live in Logan Utah (about 100 miles
north of Salt Lake City). I work for a university owned laboratory
and we make spacecraft. I specialize in orbital mechanics and
propulsion systems. One satellite I worked on with the French and Russians
ended up re-entering over Bolivia and scared the hell out of the
Australians because of on-board plutonium. Currently, I am doing
business development for the lab which makes me travel more than I'd
like to.

I grew up in San Bernardino CA and worked and lived in France for three years.
My wife, Ellen, and I are both 31 years old and have two children.
Other hobbies include horses and antiques in general.

I was very happy to find the Alpines list. Its great to know that
there are others out there with this rare and unique car. As for me,
I'll never sell mine. Its a part of the family!

Kind Regards,

Jim Cantrell
