Re: What kind of Alpine do I have?

Curt,

The tach and speedo have positive earth printed on the bottom so I
assume they are from a Series IV. I was told when I bought the car that
it had been converted to a negative ground and so would probably be
conclusive evidence that this was indeed a Series IV as Series V's were
all negative ground?

Adding to the confusion is the fact that when I bought the car, the
engine wasn't installed in it. I was simply given many parts and told
that all the parts are there to make a car. I've since found out that
this was not quite the case. The engine block is stamped with a
different number from any Alpine, thus erasing any final indication
about the origins. As far as the seats go, I was given four seats
separately as none were in the car, so who knows where these came from.
Sigh.
