I never noticed any problem with the ballance of the brakes. My
old series IV with the stock booster and BF goodrich T/A Radials
(BR60-13) under hard braking would lock the rears first and with just a
bit more presure, the fronts would lock. This is EXACTLY how I would
want it. Way too many modern cars (without real ABS) will lock the
front long before they lock the rears, if ever. This is especially true
on front wheel drive cars. At least this has been my experience with
them. The worst was a Subaru Wagon that I had. It was a model just
before their ABS was available. It was simply a scary car to drive down
a steep hill in the wet. To make it even worse, the E-Brake worked on
the front ! Never again !!! I long for the perfect balance that My
Alpine had. It was so predictable. BTW, This was with those Repco Semi
metalic Pads that I used.
