Why mess around with the persnicketty booster, when the smaller pistoned
early master will work just fine? "Especially if originality doesnt
matter".

It is my understanding that re-chroming wire wheels, while not being
economically practical, actually leaves you with potentially dangerous
wheels.

Any time you plate "or replate" pre-stressed metals, the plating process
itself makes the plated part weaker and more brittle. The reason is
Hydrogen Embrittlement, and the result can be "stress broken" spokes
and the like.

I recommend that you paint your old wheels, or buy new ones.
