There have also been some articles in the Brit/Classic car magazines you could
try to track down. I haven't saved any of these.

Talking to a wheel shop that still works on wires will also give you a good
idea of what's involved. Shops in my area dropped wires a few years back and
now ship the few wire jobs they do get out to California. Two contacts I had
were British Wire Wheel and (I think) Valley Wire Wheel - both were helpful in
explaining their refurbishing processes. British WW also sells spokes, nuts,
and tape if you decide to do the job yourself. Their web site is:
