Thanks for the suggestions and comments....on my gross polluter...
I spoke with the smog tech last night and he says the float on the carburator
is too high dumping excess fuel in. This is consistent with another problem I
was having starting the car when it was hot. It was probably getting flooded.
He has not been able to find a rebuild kit for the weber DGV carburetor yet.
Any one out there know where to get at least a gasket set?

I did not get a printout on the test as the test wasn't completed. But he said
it did pass the idle emissions part. He's going to put it on again to get a
printout. I looked at my last four printouts for the past several years and
while they do show that they ran the test at 2500 rpms - nothing was printed
that said anything about limits or pass fail on that part of the test. That
includes my first two failed tests using the two strombergs when I bought the
car. I put the Weber on after those two failures and had no problems passing
the next two times. The car ran so much better with the weber, but that may be
because I wasn't very good with the strombergs. The weber was much simpler.
