Well, its been a while since I had this particular problem, but I do
remember that is was not possible to hook the locks without
removing either the door handle or the latch mechansim.
This, because the rods have a U-bend, and must be rotated into
position.

Niether is really tough to get out, but seems to me the latch
should be left in place, and the handle removed for easiest acess.

Oh, roll your window up before you start. Trust me here.
