Many thanks for the blizzard of responses.

Now that I know the unstamped cover is not a big deal, I want to
customize it. I'd like to cut a "TOMATO" into the rectangle, a stylized
tomato into the diamond, and paint the raised areas red.

How to carve aluminum? Would sand-blasting over a rubber mask work? Do I
finally have a reason to buy a Dremel kit?
