Re question 2, the "chrome ring bezel" is supposed to be there, and is
held in place by the grommet that goes through the fender.
re: question 3 and 3a, The original was aluminum and headliner kits are
available from Sunbeam Specialties- (408) 371 1642.
As for as question 1, I don't know, since mine was plugged when I got
it, and I replaced all but the tank fitting with a larger flexible line
and have had no trouble.
