I pulled the engine from my Series V last night. (You may remember that I
thought I had thrown #3 rod last summer). I haven't got to the crank yet, but
I did get the head off last night. OH NO! #3 exhaust valve is borken and #3
and #4 combustion chambers are pretty beat up. Needless to say so are #3 and
#4 pistons. By my rough measurement, the deepest chips in the head are about 2
mm.
So my question: is this head saveable, i.e. what is the maximum amount I can
have milled from the head? More than 2mm to remove the chips? There are also
some small dings in the cumbustion chambers, not very deep. They can probably
be smoothed out with little problem.
Thanks
