No, only the initial linkage position may be adjusted, and then only
to center the adjustment to allow full slave stroke.
A properly setup 'factory setup' will have about 1 inch of easy pedal
before the pedal gets hard. This will be the case regardless of clutch
age and condition.

Are you losing water from the pressure relief on the cap?
If not, have someone connect a gauged radiator cap while the
engine is running. If the pressure jumps around while the engine
is running, then you have a blown head gasket.
