I had the same clutch problem a few years ago after installing new
clutch and pressure plate. I found out later by process of elimination
that the pressure plate I used had weak springs. It was re-conditioned
and had been machined to the point where the springs did not apply
enough pressure to the clutch surface causing the slip at high RPM or
high load conditions. I spent the extra money and bought a brand new
pressure plate and the problem went away. You could also check to make
sure that you don't have an oil leaking onto the clutch surfaces.

I've been fighting my overheating problem for a while and have gone
through the radiator, new head with re-conditioned water passages, and
thermostats. My next step is to inspect the water pump for a slipping
impeller blade. Something you might want to check on your engine.
