Thick shifting con't...still need help.

The thick shifting seems to come after a while of driving. I suspect the transmission is heating up thus effected the linkage. But why is the transmission heating up? I have kept the same oil in this car for 8 years now. It has been the heavy gear oil, but I feel the problem is elsewhere since the level is up. I have had OD problems due to low oil and once I add some the problem goes away.

There is a strange connection between the overheating gearbox and the use of the OD. The OD has trouble going in now and will kick out when any strain is placed on it such as corners and hills. I checked the filter and cleaned it. I checked the release valve from below to see if anything was blocking the holes in the valve and it is fine. I did the same with the pump but from below I still do not know if the pump is failing.

Now, the OD does not engage at all. The solenoid is functioning.

It all seems to be oil related but I do not know how.

1. Blockage? Is there only one hole connecting the OD to the gearbox? 2. Does the pump in the OD fail and if so should this be effecting the gearbox? 3 What generaly goes wrong with the gearbox?

Any help is appreciated.
