Sound reasonable,

Anyhow, with the two mounting bolts removed, the shocks can be partially lowered, and the top plates cheeshead screws removed. Once the top plate is removed, new shock oil can be added.

Filler plug not needed.

After 30+ years of sitting, the gasket may be pretty brittle, so count on havinf to make another.
