I recently saw a "cheap" engine hoist set up**. A fellow Sunbeam owner put a "J" shaped towing hook (the kind that you bolt to your bumper and hook a chain or a rope to) on the header over his garage door. Most single door garage headers are 2 or 3 2 inch x 12 inch lumber turned on their sides and can easily handle 500 lbs. (I would not use this idea on a double garage door.) He hooked up a chain hoist (or use a come-a-long) and pulled his motor. I liked the idea but to make it even stronger, I took a 1/2 inch steel plate, cut a slot in the center for to put the hook in and used 4 1/2 inch lag bolts to hold it in place. I have not tried it out yet but I will soon and I will report back about the results. **Use this idea at your own risk. ; ( Just to cover my buns.....
