My specialty is Alpines, so try the Tiger mailing list, but Sunbeam Specialties lists the instrument voltage regulator as being for "all" cars. We know that the S I and II Alpines didn't use one, but it looks like the Tiger might have. It uses the same temperature sender as the Alpine, so that's your first clue. Do the termometer test Tony mentioned. It'll bring you some peace of mind, at least.
