Please keep me posted (as well as the other V6/Alpine project owners),
because my 2.8 has been sitting in the engine stand for some time now.
My 2.8 came from a '78 too, and I still have the car available to remove
any further parts too. However, after removing the MustangII wire
harness, I can't think of anything worth removing. It sounds like you
have a manual shift? I am still looking for all the
clutch/flywheel/housing/transmission components. I know we don't want to
save the ford alternator; Buy the smaller GM one. Right now, I am trying
to get the old 4-banger running so I can drive my series 1 for the first
time in 23 years.
