No, I think like the last post that foaming is the only problem . My brother had a 49' Olds, and had great problems right after the detergent/no debate hit in the late 50's (damn am I old or not!).. Any way my book calls for non. One more thing , years ago the major problem with detergent , was, if you had an old engine running on non, and suddenly changed, the newer detergent would clean and remove a lot of the sealing dirt out of areas not desired and problems would develope. I would say , If you have an engine fresh overhauled , then by all means use a detergent (IF) you are not racing???Jarrid, Tony, Jay, Dick,,,,, any one?
