I am considering truck-box liner (Rhino Linings, to be specific),
because I hate vacuuming auto carpets. There's a lot of grit here that
resists vacuuming and just stays deep in the fabric, sawing up all the
threads over time. Then, there's the part of glueing a semi-malleable
fabric (underlay) to the metal, and another less-malleable fabric
(carpet) to that. And, carpet's a big sponge holding moisture
near the metal when the inevitable top-down downpour happens. Finally,
there's the tedious scraping to get all the glue off to replace the
stuff after it's battered and worn again.

I've already cleaned, etch-primed, seam-sealed and fill-primed my floor
(after putting in new pans). For about CAN$300 I can get what amounts to
a hard plastic basin for the floor that should resist the elements and
anything I'm likely to spill on it.
