Just found you guys on the net and subscribed to the mailing list. I
have a 67 Alpine back in the States that I will restore when I retire
in a couple of years. It won't take much work as it only has 26,000
miles on it and has been in a garage since 1970. All I really have to
do is put the engine back together and install it.
I am now working in Sri Lanka, a little tear drop shaped island south
of India, and there are a LOT of old Brit cars here. I've seen a red
Series Four up country and heard of another Alpine in Colombo and will
try to run it down. Also seen a number of 30's, 40's and 50's
Austins, Morrises (there are a billion Morris 1000's here) and MG's,
as well as old motorcycles. There is even a 50's Bentley here!
There is a car show this week end so I'll be able to better gauge
what's available. There is one caveat though, we can't ship anything
out that is over fifty years old so I can't get the 1930 Morris Eight
roadster. Darn, and the owner only wants $4,000.00 for it!
The question I have is that since there are so many British cars here
I might be able to find the 67 alternator I need. Can anybody give me
info to start looking for it?
Thanks,
Gordon
