I was about to put my engen back in my SV and I decited to plug the
starter in and run it to make shure it could turn the engen. Well, it
dident, the starter passed all bench tests so its all good. I tryed hand
cranking it and it was a pain the (at)ss So I had to figure ot what was going
on. The first thing I thought was "Hmm, the Harmonic Ballincer made
turning it hard when I was putting it to gether." So I took that off and
looked at it, it was all in good condition. Then I tood the timing chane
covor off and looked at that, and looked how it fit in and stuff. It fit
fine, Looke at the bolt holes in the timing chane covor dident fit the
bolts exactly, So I just put the Balencer on with the timeing chane covor
on but not bolted on and then put 2 bolts in to hold it in place. Then
took the balencer off and put the rest on, It works now, and its real
smooth as I spinn it. But the queston of the day is, How does it keep
oil in with the gap so big between the hole in the timeing chane covor and
the ballencer, I see no seals or anything. I can see how the groves will
help channel the oil back into the engen but it dosent seem like that
would be enough.
