You dont need the part.
Very early alpines had them, possibly even very early series IIs.
It was supposed to keep the TO bearing from rubbing on the clutch cover
thrust disc, which would prematurely wear the TO's carbon face, but
created more problems then it solved.
The problems was that the spring will return the slave cyls piston
back toward the its non engaged position, thus defeating the inherant
self adjustablility of the hydrolic linkage.
It often made the clutch fail to release, and gears couldnt be selected
from nuetral.
