I tried to repair mine and destroyed it trying to take it apart. Once
inside, the parts looked so unusual I don't think I could have ever
found replacements that would seal properly.
At the time, I could not find a replacement valve so I went to the
hardware and bought a hot water valve ( the kind with a flat handle that
moves 90 degrees ) and have been using it since. By lubing the friction
point, the control cable can easily move it from open to close.
O.K. I admit it , I'm a hack.
