On the one and only oil change I did, I first loosened the filter just
to remove any suction from the rubber ring. Then I wrapped a rag around
the bottom. Then I wrapped a plastic bag around the whole thing. As I
spun the filter I pressed the rag tighter around the filter bottom,
following the filter base shaft, and when I felt the filter leave the
shaft turned the whole mess over. Worked great. Make sure you have a bag
with no holes. I didn't, but I just added a couple drops of oil to an
already-oily block.
