tom, my way is good for me. First take the valve cover off, squirt some
mircle
oil on the rails for the lifters. Reinstall, then remove the spark plugs
and if
you didn't store it this way squirt in some 10 wgt oil on the pistons.
Leave
the plugs out and spiner over till the oil pressure is up. squirt in some
good
ol WD-40 aaahhc watch it just a bit. Install the plugs and fireher up. Yeh
it'll smoke a bit but well oiled.chuck seriers ll not run since Sep. 98.
now has new , wheel bearings, seals. and Wheels....>>
Hi Chuck,
I usually try to start my Alpine a few times over the winter, so
lubricating the parts shouldn't be too much of a concern. What I'm actually
questioning is how to start an Alpine when it's dead cold in the morning.
Since Strombergs don't really have accelerator pumps that actually squirt
fuel into the intakes, I don't think pumping the gas pedal helps prime the
motor. Any suggestions?
Tom
