This is very funny. I've been bidding on ebay lately for one of those
Husky toy pointy fin Alpines (Matchbox size). I've had no luck yet. They
keep selling for more than I think they are worth. I got an e-mail last
week from a guy telling me he saw that I was bidding and wondered if I had
a particular interest in Alpines since I am using the name "AlpineJ" on
ebay. He said he has an Alpine that he is going to restore, and is looking
for a blue hardtop. So, I sent him an e-mail telling him about this group,
SAOC, and my cars.
I then reread his e-mail about his Alpine that he wants to restore which he
has had "since childhood." It then dawned on me that he was talking about
restoring his TOY Alpine! They come with this funky BLUE Hardtop.
Needless to say, we both got a good chuckle out of it.
