I am aware of at least 5 people racing alpines at this time.
I am a would be vintage alpine racer, but havent been to the track
for a year and a half. My cars sits in a state of disrepair, but if motivated,
I suspect I could have it ready to race again in a month or so.
Purchase the series II competition booklet from S.S., or likely C.S.
It is as close is you will get to factory race prep info.
Recently, on perhaps not so, several listers set into motion geting
reproduction early competition sway bars. thes are avail from S.S.
Most alpines raced with factory induction, and whatever flavor
cam and porting they could dream up.
Some people raced with the famed hartwell twin DCOE intake.
SCCA wont let you run the hartwell ( not stock), but most vintage
clubs will.
Todays vintage racing is done with much faster cars than they
originally were due to "relaxed rules".
You will have to build one heck of a hot engine before you
will be able to compete with the Alphas,MGAs, Minis and
spitfires that also belong in "F" production.
Get out your wallet cause safety gear costs more than the car
is worth.
