Well, I have run XZX's for years, and those are the ones I routinely got
80,000 miles out of, but, understand, I do not rotate my tires, being an
old John Muir fan. The replacements are the all-but-identical XH4's, which
I now have on my Audi. Nice tires.

I agree that the harder the tire, the less handling benefit. But, then, I
am doing street driving, so I can avoid auto-cross needs. If I were doing
high-performance work, I'd probably opt for Yokohoma, much as I detest the
company (one of their plants is here in town and they are a horrid employer
and a vile concern in many regards -- the workers will NOT buy Yokohoma
tires in protest).
