Re: Effective Rubber Restorer?

I've been using a silicone lubricant product from Prestone. I bought a
couple of cans from NAPA for a buck apiece on sale one day. Eliminates
squeaks, Waterproofs, Rustproofs, and lubricates. Prevents sticking and
binding. The back of the can says it's good for mechanical and household
equipment. Great for use on metal, vinyl, rubber, canvas, plastic, and
wood. Also helps waterproof ignition systems and weather stripping. I've
been spraying it on the rubber molding and the bead strip around the doors.
I used to have a drip leak on my leg in a really hard rain. This has
stopped. I'm convinced it was leaking around the windshield weather strip.
Since I've applied the stuff about a half dozen times or so I have not had a
wet leg when I get out. I think anything from a can that works is really
great. It's how things should be. I only wish it would repad the brakes
and clutch. If you could just spray some in the crankcase and eliminate
blowby it would be perfect. As it is, it's only very good. Use it, you
won't be sorry.
