Brent,
It seems to me the way to go is the Pertronics kit which sells about
$80.00. At the Cincinnati British car meet, this past weekend, I was
talking to Mark Weber (owner and driver of a fine looking MGB
E-production race car, #19X) about his digital ignition system that he
said costs about $200-$300 and its operating principle is very simular
to todays computer controlled system. It uses a crank position sensor
that fires a two coil system. No moving parts except for the shaft
encoder disk that can fit on the crank pully (looks about to be 8 inch
diameter, thin disk). Anyone know of vendors to buy these things from,
forward the info to me and I'll post it on sunbeamalpine.org
