Yes, or put studs in.

Check to make sure your ignition is not jumping around, this will
make your idle inconsistant.
Make certain the timing is correct as well.
Alpines are not usually well balanced, and thus s small amount of
shaking is considered normal. What you are after here is a consistant
reading on your tach, and not a surgeon steady engine idle.
If the engine revs higher and a throttle close, then slows down, this
is usually indicative of a lean mixture idle. Try richining the mixture,
and your revs are likely to increase.
Your carb may also have a dashpot, which slows the plates from closing,
and will make the idle drop slower.

Try choking the car, and retest.
You may need to back the choke idle speed adjust to make the engine
idle at the right RPM while you do this test.
If the hesitation gets better, you probably need a larger idle jet, or
a bigger accel pump nozzle jet.
If it gets worse, you will need a smaller idle jet.
Also have a look at your plugs.
If they are black, you can assume the mixture is too rich.
>And one final stupid question. How do I tighten the center bolt on the

Use a socket wrench with a really long extension.
