The adjustable rods are better as they allow for a "perfect" adjustement
during fitting, but....

The length of the rods is irrelevant, provided that the correct clutch
bits are used, the clutch will get full stroke with a clutch depression,
and the slave piston position has at least 1/4 inch latitude to allow
for the clutch disc wear (slave piston position will shift toward the non
engaged position with wear, if the piston hits its stop, the clutch will
not fully disengage).

There is a great deal of available stroke on the slave, so the initial
piston position is very forgiving.

This make sense?
