Almost all the Alpine and Tiger hardtops I have seen and or owned have had
the hardtop "barely" grab the rear hardtop anchors on the trunk. The points
are usually just hanging by a thread. This would explain the 1/4" gap at the
top of your wing window if you had the "point" of the rear ties on the trunk
fully engaged when you tightened down the windscreen. I don't know, I think
this is one of those design flaws you can't get around, however, I will be
doing the same thing shortly so am paying attention to other posts. You
might want to post this to the Tiger group too and get some input. Be sure
to give us a copy if you do. One of the things I did when I disassembled my
S3 was to count and catalog those washers under the windscreen. This may
just be a waste of time when putting in all new rubber as I will.
