In addition to checking your U-joints, you should also check your pinion
adjustments. Noise that is louder on acceleration probably means that there
is heavy contact on the heel
ends of the gear teeth. Maybe your backlash is not adjusted properly. (I
assume the noise stays, even on curves, and you did not change the crown or
the pinion, and the crown was checked for broken, stripped, or loose bolts
and torqued properly)
