I maybe off , but I wonder if you checked the U joints. They can mimic
that type of response and are easy to eliminate as a problem. Simply get
under the car with engine off, and the parking brake set. Then grasp the
driveline and try to twist it. If there is any "play" in it, replace the
U joints.
