Yes.
Earlier 8 inch covers were coil spring clutches.
Later 8 inch were diaphragm spring clutches as were the 7.5 inch.
There is a difference in mounting pattern between the 8 inch sprung
and the 7.5 inch clutches, not certain about the later 8 inch though.
7.5 inch clutch discs can be ordered with coarse and fine spline
hubs to go with earlier and later all sync transmisions.
Also be certain to use the correct year TO/fulcrum setup for the
cover that you are using, as the various covers have different
heights to the thrust plate.
