Hi
Taa for the info. Yeah, the 1 3/4 SUs actually seem quite good in that they
never bog down and pull from nothing, their top end seems to be OK too. I
put them on after I was having trouble getting it to rev freely over about
5200 with the twin strombergs, but it didn't make much difference. The real
difference came when I opened the inlet ports right out (about 35% volume
increase in some parts) and tidied up the chambers, three angle seat cut
etc. Then hey ho, 6200 came up pretty quick, followed by valve bounce, even
with dual springs, but I think something may be a bit dodgy there. Actually
I suspect the person who tidied up the rocker faces may have mucked it up by
grinding them flat. Anyone have any ideas on that? The head was done by
myself as per david vizards suggestions in his cylinder head mod book.
I think twin weber 42s are going to be my carb config.
What are the specs for the alpine performance cam?
Have you or anyone had any luck with stroking the crank?
