This sounds like you have the fuel filter clogged with the paint that peels
off the inside of the fuel tank. If you are lucky/smart enough to have a fuel
filter check it for paint flakes. You can also look at the filter in the bowl
of the fuel pump if you are using the original fuel pump. As the fuel bowl is
clear you can see the flakes on the little screen.
The solution if this is the problem is to take out the tanks, clean them and
them seal the insides. I have done this project on about 6 or 7 alpines using
the gas tank saler from Hirsch. They advertise in the front of hemmings.
