I have had the exact same problem with mine in the 67 Series 5. I had purchased this unit from Rick at SS for my 63 restoration and after buying the 67 decided to go ahead and use it to replace the bad points.
The best I could do was about 25 degrees before TDC at an 1000 rpm. I was forced to flip the distributor completly around so the vac advance is now on the outside. I don't like it but can't seem to fix it. This has caused my small vacume line to be streched to the limit.
I would like to know if this IS the right unit.
Please let me know the outcome.
