Timing mark?

On a Series II motor, where is the timing mark? Both of my books (Rootes and
Haynes) say it's on the right side (about 11 o'clock?). Can't find mine...
What is the marker? Is it really that small little tab, spot welded to the
cover? Maybe mine fell off.
