Tim,

I had the same quandary when I installed my V-6. The Alternator is
internally regulated. Go buy a Capri maint. book from Kragen in the
back is a wiring diagram it takes some time but trace the wires, next go
buy a replacement alternator plug from your Ford dealer( take the
Alternator with you). Remember the engine should have a hefty ground
wire going to the block some where. By following the wire diagram I
was able to get the ammeter and ignition light to work and the battery
to charge. I will try to take a look at the car tonight to see if there
was anything I missed.
