Spring Sunbeam run in Northern CA anyone ?

I've been wanting to see if it would be possible to get some of us together
for a drive come spring time. I understand that there used to be some
regular runs around the San Francisco Bay area a few years back, but I have
not heard of any as long as I have been in the area.

I initially thought a run through Napa Valley would be nice, it is gorgeous
in the spring time before the tourists hit, but the thought of combining a
group of nice cars and the temptation of wineries seems a little ill
advised. Also, Napa is pretty, but mostly flat and straight.

My second thought was a run through the Marin Headlands. This could start
about the Golden Gate Bridge, wind through Sausalito and the Golden Gate
Recreation Area to Stinson Beach and Bolinas, this is a great windy rode
along some very rugged coastline. Great photo opportunities. Maybe head up
into the mountains from there and drive through Muir Woods and maybe to the
top of Mount Tamalpais, another option would be a run through the Marin
Water District watershed and down into Fairfax. Other possibilities include
Point Reyes National Seashore and Point Reyes Station (the North Bay's
answer to Alice's Restaurant for those more familiar with the Peninsula).
Another option could include a trip from Corte Madera along the Bay through
Tiburon and into Sausalito. Whatever the route, I understand that the
Buckeye Roadhouse on Highway 101 is well regarded as a destination after a
day of driving and would be just about back where we started.

If we really wanted to get brave, we could even try to head into San
Francisco and take a trip along Cliff Side to the Palace of Legion of Honor
and maybe through the Presidio, the Marina district, Lombard Street, and
down Embarcadero to where they are building the new ball park (with an
obligatory stop at Red's Java house for a hotdog'anda'beer... We could also
cover the Golden Gate Park, Ocean Beach (the Beach Chalet of course), and
the Cliff House.

Anyone interested? Any suggestions about other routes, preferences on the
ones mentioned? Anyone already doing this or have any other suggestions?

I have no experience whatsoever in coordinating something like this, but if
enough folks are interested I'd be happy to try and put something together.
