Has anybody removed their gearbox without removing the engine? I am
attempting to remove my transmission from my S2 and according to 3
service manuals it can be done by tilting the engine down and draw the
tranny back. At present the bellhousing is completely unbolted,
driveshaft removed, rear crossmember removed but their is not enough
clearance to drop the tranny rearward and back. Has anybody attempted
this feat with success? In the 8 hours it took me to struggle through
this I could have had the entire unit out! Thanks Brent Kasl
